The $40 Jeans That Skim Instead of Grab
Okay, this Reel sparked so many questions—especially some version of: “Wait…where did your stomach go? Did you size up?” 😂
Nope. Same belly. Same size 12. Different jeans.
And honestly, this is exactly why I talk so much about Outfit Physics™. I spent way too many years assuming that if jeans didn’t look right, something about my body needed to change.
Sometimes, ladies, it’s just the jeans.
These have enough structure to skim my belly instead of grabbing it, and the leg shape gives me the balance I want through my lower half. No sucking in. No squeezing myself into submission. The clothes are doing the work.
And they immediately reminded me of the MOTHER Lemon jeans that are around $250.
These are about $40. 🙌
Which length am I wearing?
I tried both so you can see the difference.
Size 12 Short: I love this length with sneakers, loafers and flats. (about 29” inseam)
Size 12 Regular: A little more length and a great option with boots or when I want that longer line. (about 31” inseam)
Three ways I'm wearing them
Plaid funnel jacket + jeans: The stand-up collar lifts the eye while the denim skims + balances.
Patterned cardigan + jeans: Cozy without feeling frumpy. The pattern brings attention up and the structured denim keeps everything balanced.
Faux fur coat + jeans: This might be my favorite way to dress them up. The texture makes a simple pair of jeans feel instantly special, while the structured denim keeps the whole look grounded. Add a simple top and a great shoe and you’re done. Easy, chic and a little bit fabulous.
White blazer + jeans: Crisp, polished and ridiculously easy. This is the kind of outfit I can wear almost anywhere.
And THAT is Outfit Physics™ in real life.
Lift. Skim. Balance.
We don't need our bellies to disappear. We need clothes that know how to do their job. 🤍
Same body. Different physics.™
